“ Best hamburger and steak of my life. Forget Peter Luger and run, don't walk!!! Amazing experience and quality is outstanding. The milkshake will remind you of your childhood! ”
“ F. Ottomanelli is a gem for burger lovers, offering high-quality, flavorful burgers in a cozy, small shop located next to a butcher. While the burgers are on the pricier side, the freshness and perfectly seasoned patties make them well worth it. The Belgian fries are decent, but the real star is the burger itself. I highly recommend giving it a try--it's definitely worth it! ”
“ Yelp can be awesome but it can also be awful sometimes. For instance, as of writing this, the place has a 3.5 Yelp score - which would make you think it's sorta-OK. Truth is, this is easily one of the best burger joints in Woodside. I've tried burgers from at least 3 places in the area, one of which supposedly famous for being THE best burger in Queens - and the honest truth is that Ottomanelli's food beats them all by a country mile. Their burgers are consistently on point - the Ottomanelli sauce is a must-have regardless of which option you choose. I usually go with the Butcher Burger with the Belgian fries on the side, but I've tried their Chicken option and their "Jam" burger also - never had anything but a tasty, juicy burger. Yesterday I dropped by to dine in for the first time, got to speak with Ronnie (great dude) who runs the meat counter and enjoy their $18.99 "lunch" Steak menu; truth is, you can order it any time of the day. Hot dang, for steak in NYC this is the best deal in town. Cooked to your liking, well-seasoned and as straightforward as you could want - just plan, tasty steak. Served about 10-15 minutes after ordering, with a choice of two sides (I went with the sauteed mushrooms and the truffle fries, was quite happy). In the past I've mostly stopped by to take a burger to go, or ordered a steak from the Butcher counter to cook at home (Ronnie's always up for good tips on how to cook whatever you order from them), but I'm glad I took the time to dine in for a change. Got a great dinner for two for $36 (with tip). I've been coming here since 2020 and have no intention of stopping anytime soon. Curious to try their new spot in LIC by the river. ”
“ Best service Best burgers in NYC Best dry aged steaks Very affordable Love the owner Frank You can take the steak to go or have them cook it in house Melissa was the best server in the entire NYC So warming and welcoming ”
“ Burger was delicious and service was good. The dry aged meat was delicious but too bad it was over done and not medium rare like we asked. I'll probably give it a 2nd try incase it was a bad day. ”
“ F Ottomanelli is a great place to satisfy your carnivorous desires for a burger or steak. Just to be clear, this is the colocation of the butcher shop, which is the S Ottomanelli case of meat on the far right as you walk in and the F Ottomanelli section for the rest of the restaurant which starts at the register on the left when you enter. The Ottomanelli family goes back several generations and is traceable back to two or three brothers who operated various shops in Manhattan that eventually merged together at this location on the western edge of Jackson Heights as the co-located F and S Ottomanelli shop we see today. I ordered the double cheeseburger with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and their tangy sauce medium rare. The great aspect of Ottomanelli's is whatever you order on the F side is coming from the S side butcher, fresh and well sourced. Don't skip the Belgian fries, which are excellent here. The bun was sound enough to handle the substantial patties , sauce lettuce and tomato. This is a thick heirloom tomato slice and the patties are still thick and juicy, without being smashed into oblivion. I ordered it medium rare and they delivered. It's a lot of meat and you will be quite satisfied. It is not Minetta Tavern Black Label, but it puts a whole lot of others to shame. You can order different meat blends for your burger from the S butcher counter: jalapeno, chipotle, lamb, turkey and perhaps chicken. You can order other steaks at the F side register from the S butcher counter: porterhouse, ribeye, lamb roasts, whole chickens, and a variety of game meats. You can cook them at home or they will cook them to order at your desired temperature. I talked to Ronnie, one of the descendants still running the show and you will find everyone there personable and delivering great service. They supply other restaurants and will take your special orders if you give them time and heads up. I can easily see people ordering standing rib roasts, lamb roasts and other great things during the holiday season. You could take a date here, order the steak and enjoy a bottle of wine for less than you would experience at the many steakhouses in NYC. By the way, the porterhouse and ribeye I took home are excellent! I don't know the weight, but they are about two inches thick and my total for all three items was about two hundred, tax included. Four stars! ”
“ A butcher shop serving fresh burgers, fries and yes even steaks by the ounce. You know for sure the meat is absolutely fresh and they do cook everything you order to perfection. They even have burger and steak lunch special which is an absolute steal. They also offer dining in area where table service is provided and the employees are just a delight. This establishment has been in the Woodside community forever but really exploded in widespread popularity recently due to social media. I can't wait to revisit for a juicy custom order by weight steak. ”
“ I came here after hearing that the butcher shop would cook a cut of your choice and serve it to you for no extra cost. The shop is essentially a 2 in 1: the butcher shop and the burger shop are connected, and share a seating area in the middle. Frank (the owner) was super friendly and helped us decide on a cut (we ended up picking the t-bone). All their steaks are USDA Prime and dry-aged for 30 days. He asked the doneness that we wanted and then sent it off to the kitchen to be cooked while we took a seat. We ordered some sides from the burger side, which were ok but nothing mind blowing. The truffle fries were the perfect thickness but not truffley at all. I'd skip the mushrooms next time, it's pretty much just a plate of basic satuted mushrooms. They also give you bread and salad for free, which was nice. The steak came out relatively fast - it had a really nice crust on it but the various pieces were definitely a little bit varying in doneness, so if you have people who are adverse to eating slightly more rare meat than medium rare, I'd order a medium just in case. I wish there was a bit more salt but in general the steak itself was delicious, and I really enjoyed the idea of being able to pick out my steak before eating it (kind of like a fancy Texas Roadhouse) ”
